It will be another fantastic show.

Christie J. Simmons (and Band)
Christie J. Simmons is a Calgary-based singer/songwriter whose diverse musical experience stretches from Renaissance recorders and highland bagpipes to Appalachian banjo. Her elegant, somewhat Celtic-inspired originals reflect an admiration for traditional folk and the strong lyrics and raw melodies of roots/Americana music.
Christie performs alongside multi-instrumentalist Steve Goodchild (banjo, bouzouki, cittern, dobro, guitars, mandolin), Helen Goodchild (keyboards) and bassist Rob McConnell.
Together, they offer up an evening of a few much-loved covers, along with original offerings that are a unique mix of prairie Celtic, a little country, and traditional folk with a twist of Americana.
Kathy Pepers
Kathy Pepers started the piano at the age of five and found the Celtic harp only after flirting with a long line of other instruments. Raised with a rich appreciation for classical music, she discovered Celtic music along with the harp and is now smitten with both and tries to sneak some Celtic tunes into any gig she plays.
Over the past two decades, she’s played with several bands in Calgary, including The Jig’s Up. She’s currently part of the instrumental group Gan Ainm who have a session on Saturdays at the Joyce on Fourth pub in Mission.
Past musical highlights for Kathy have been guest performances with Scottish-Canadian recording artist Maggie Christl, and Calgary’s beloved folk musician Barry Luft, and several appearances on the stage at Celtic Folk and the Rocky Mountain Folk Club. She’s also been a regular at the annual Water Valley Celtic Festival.
Get Reel
Hailing from the East Coast of De Winton and the North Shores of Calgary, our jolly ship’s crew will explore a lively set of songs and fiddle tunes from the East Coast, Irish, Scottish, Folk, and other Celtic traditions.
Get Reel is Doug Wagner (vocals, harmonies, bodhran, guitar, and fiddle), Greg Black (vocals, harmonies, guitar, electric bass, and octave mandolin) and Tony Hogan (vocals and percussion).
Over many years, Get Reel has performed in numerous venues around Alberta, including the Water Valley Celtic Festival, the Irish Cultural Society, Okotoks, and the High River. We are also the house band for Celtic Folk.
When the fog is just right, you can almost smell the ocean, see the shipwrecks, hear the crashing waves with “a tiny trace of fiddling in the distance far behind him.”
