Concert – Miscellany Of Folk
SOLD OUT: Celtic Folk is excited to present Miscellany Of Folk, a collection of talented Irish and Newfoundland musicians, at the Calgary Irish Cultural Society for our 12 October 2024 concert. We are also happy to have a local powerhouse, The Oak Trio, joining the show. Get Reel will perform a short set.

Concert – Cassie and Maggie
Tickets available at the door. Celtic Folk is excited to present the Nova Scotia sisters, Cassie and Maggie, at the Calgary Irish Cultural Society for our 11 May 2024 concert. This dynamic and high-energy duo has been performing across North America and Europe. The Drowsy Maggies will open the evening.
Concert – A Red, Green Spring
SOLD OUT: Join us for the highly-anticipated, long-awaited debut of Jarred Albright and David Morrissey taking the stage together, exclusively at Celtic Folk, on April 13th. The Red Porch Ramblers and Get Reel will round out the evening for our red, green start to spring at the Irish Cultural Society Calgary, Hickey’s Place.
Concert – Where We Wander
SOLD OUT: We’ll be at Hickey’s Place (Calgary) for our first concert for 2024. The Oak Trio will be returning to Celtic Folk for a high energy set along with Wander West and Get Reel.
Concert – The King’s Shilling
“He took the shilling, and he’s off to war.” We’ll be at Hickey’s Place for our first concert of this season. Horizon Ridge will be returning to Celtic Folk along with Coastal Craic and Get Reel. We’ll be sure to have a few moving songs of Remembrance amidst the upbeat songs, tunes, and good craic.
Concert – Homeward Bound
SOLD OUT: This leg of our travels will take us on a musical journey from Calgary to the East Coast, and beyond. The ever popular Morrissey’s Private Stock will be back for a third go around. Filling out this ship’s entertainment roster are Erin’s Fancy and Get Reel.
Concert – This Side of the Road
SOLD OUT: Fresh off of our sold-out relaunch show, we’re excited to have the fantastic fiddlers, Jane and Kyle joining us for their western Canadian tour. After all we’re just off the highway, this side of the road as they pass through. Also joining us is a recently formed local trio, The Drowsie Maggies. Additionally, Get Reel will be back with a brand new set.
Concert – Ship of Fools
SOLD OUT – We’re relaunching the ship after three years – on April Fool’s Day and only two weeks after St. Paddy’s Day. We hope you’ll join us to welcome back Hazel Grey to the Celtic Folk stage. Na Seanachie will be taking the stage for the middle set and Get Reel is the opener.
Virtual Concert – Music & Mischief
Celtic Folk is excited to co-present this virtual concert. This is a first for us. Hang onto your hats … champion Scottish & multi-style fiddler Mari Black and Nova Scotia/Cape Breton fiddler & piano player extraordinaire Troy MacGillivray are about to team up for an unforgettable, shenanigan-ridden duo musical adventure!

Concert – Whiskey in the Jar (Cancelled)
I’ve seen fiddler Scott Duncan around Calgary over the years. When we re-launched Celtic Folk, I knew we would have to have him out in some configuration for a show. When Delta Whiskey launched, I knew that was a perfect mix. Well, two years later, we have them slotted as our closing band.
Concert – Rum Ragged (Cancelled)
When we heard Rum Ragged is going to be in town and had a free night, we just had to get the lads in for a Calgary show. They will be joined by guests Dave Whitty and Morrissey’s Private Stock. You won’t want to miss this special event.
Concert – The Sea Bound Coast
We are excited to be heading into 2020 with the high energy of yet another Celtic Folk debut – The Nova Scotiables. Our middle set features two performers with a long Celtic Folk history, returning in a brand new key.
Concert – 10:30 in Newfoundland
Tune in on November 16th, at 7 pm in Calgary – 10:30 in Newfoundland. We are bringing back one of the bands that helped us launch the new Celtic Folk concert series back in April of 2018. The evening includes other wonderful musicians as well as (checks notes) some cello. It will be another great show.

Concert – Family, Roots, and Musical Traditions
Join us at Celtic Folk as we present a varied and lively musical journey emerging from family, roots, and numerous musical traditions – intertwined with Celtic influences. The evening is at Hickey’s Place in a concert format (attentive audience), with three bands, and a cash bar. New: We have a caterer providing pub style food – cash only.
Concert – Driving the Celtic Trail
Fasten your seatbelts and enjoy the musical journey while we drive along Alberta’s Celtic Trail. The performers for the night will be sharing songs and tunes from Scotland, Ireland, and Canada’s East Coast. This show is an excellent warm-up for the Water Valley Celtic Festival on June 23rd. As a bonus, we’ll get you back to Calgary right afterward.

It’s going to be a rip-roaring good time with music from Newfoundland, Ireland, and a few other places thrown in. Intimate concert setting (attentive audience), three bands, with cash bar. The lineup includes: Morrissey’s Private Stock, Oak Tree Trio, and Get Reel.
